Presents Seagate Internal Hard Drive for Desktop 3TB

In June 2010, Seagate has launched its first 3TB hard drive to an external hard drive option, which is named Barracuda XT. Today, Seagate launches hard drives with a capacity equal to the internal hard drive inside the computer desktop, named BlackArmor NAS. Seagate also makes this hard drive compatible with Windows XP.

Previously, Windows XP 32 bit usually use the MBR (Master Boot Record) which is only limited to the size of 2:19 TB drive partition. This means the system can not read when a hard drive capacity exceeds that number, and can not know exactly how much capacity.

In addition, computer-system Windows uses the BIOS on the motherboard, which can not boot if the hard drive capacity exceeding 2:19 TB, because of protocol restrictions BIOS. To that end, the solution can use the new Barracuda XT is, according to Seagate.

Seagate claims that the built-in hard drive DiscWizard software makes it easier for users to use the entire capacity of 3TB hard drive, even when the disk is used as the main hard drive to be bootable. Once the OS is installed on the partition that Windows can detect it, then the user can install DiscWizard, which also makes the rest of the secondary partitions to be detected by Windows.

When used with EFI and Windows Vista 64-bit version, the Barracuda XT 3TB technology will serve as a regular hard drive 3TB. Barracuda XT support 64MB cache, use the Serial ATA interface cable 6Gbps, and rotation speed of 7.200 rpm. Hardware XT Barracuda hard drive is designed for high-level game play and a large super store, with a 5 year warranty and a suggested retail price of $ 279. >
