IBM Releases Energy Efficient Supercomputers

IBM introduced a new Power 575 supercomputer with the world's fastest microprocessor, IBM POWER6. To cool it, IBM using water technology called Hydro-Cluster. The goal is to reduce the heat generated electronic components. The way it is claimed can reduce 40% energy consumption required to cool the data center. IBM scientists estimate the water 4,000 times more effective than air to cool the computer system. With 448 processor core per rack, the Power 575 offers five times faster performance than previous products. Thanks to advanced water cooling system called Hydro-Cluster supercomputers are three times more energy efficient. IBM is always trying to expand the limits of top-class supercomputers and energy savings to meet the needs of advancing technology and science.
